<p>TS understands the merits of visual communications; they’ve been successfully running digital media in their 27+ MTS Connect stores for the past 7 years. The new digital poster project is aimed at continuing to enhance the consumer experience with content focused on events, promotions and new product launches. Replacing the traditional paper poster, new 40” Samsung LCD displays configured in portrait mode, allow content to be updated rapidly, changed to suit time of day, and ensure content compliance.<br />

<span class='dropcap square'>A</span>s thought leaders for the HR profession and regulatory body for close to 20,000 HR practitioners in Ontario, the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA) needed its new headquarters to be both a meeting place and center of learning for many different constituencies: HR professionals, the Association’s business partners, government, and academia.<br />
The HRPA needed an elegant, dynamic solution to help inform and guide visitors throughout their 5000-square-foot Learning Centre. Replete with meeting rooms, videoconferencing suite, webcast studio, classrooms and networking areas, the Learning Centre was functionally enhanced with engaging digital signage that combines touchscreen wayfinding and display screens throughout.<br />
Dot2Dot partner Clearview Digital Marketing raised the bar by streamlining and standardizing business practices to enhance the HRPA brand. At the heart of the efficiency gain is Scala Content Manager—custom-scripted—that allows users to input content months in advance and then intelligently manage and wirelessly publish information on all screens. For visitors entering the Centre, a touchscreen details in real-time the day’s events, complete with rooms, walking paths, and washroom locations. Once inside, complementary screens artfully attract viewers with more relevant and engaging information about: future events, speaker photos and bios, the days schedule, and special promotions.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<h5><b>Toronto, ON, December 20, 2012 </b>— A rich history and an eye on the future – A strong sense of tradition hasn’t stopped Toronto’s Crescent School for boys (founded in 1913) from embracing a new form of dynamic communication on campus.</h5>
<span class='dropcap square'>A</span>centralized digital signage network located in five key areas throughout the school uses Scala software to keep students updated, informed and engaged. Offering information on everything from bus schedules to news, announcements and house standings; the network also provides the peace of mind that emergency alerts can be broadcast instantly should the need arise.<br />
Crescent School haven’t simply taken the opportunity to enhance their internal communications, they’re investing in training the students who themselves manage and run the network on a daily basis. Dot2Dot Communications hosted an onsite two-day work shop where hands-on training on Scala Content Manager and Designer was provided for key students and staff. Participants called the work shop “incredibly convenient”, “helpful” and “supportive”.<br />
And the results show, “Crescent TV is definitely having an impact,” effuses the school’s Communications Prefect, grade 12 student, Spencer Belyea.</p>

The screens usefulness goes far beyond the schools’ common areas; one teacher has embraced and brought the technology into the gymnasium. Rather than handing out paper, a 47” LG touch screen has become a great resource for interacting with students on a particular day’s lesson. Over 140 attendees from more than 85 companies toured the DTS show floor that featured the hottest technologies in digital signage to help businesses and organizations effectively communicate, capture mindshare, and build brands.</h5>

<span class='dropcap square'>D</span>ot2Dot effectively and efficiently manages the network on behalf of MNN and works closely with their team on a daily basis. Using Ad Manager in conjunction with Scala Content Manager, the Dot2Dot services team manages player inventory, administers sales contracts, schedules campaigns and content to specific locations, and provides detailed performance reports—including ‘proof-of-play’ for advertisers. This hosted network currently consists of 65 locations, and expects to grow to 150 by the end of 2012.<br />

<span class='dropcap square'>T</span>he entire Scala Canada team of eight is now at Dot2Dot, owned by Andy McRae, general manager; John Devonshire, client services manager, and Richard Tso, an entrepreneur with a software background who set up Dot2Dot a year ago as he was getting into the digital signage business. And if you are looking for Nancy Biglow, marketing manager, Tania Phillips, account director, and the rest of the Scala Canada crew you’ll find them all at Dot2Dot, along with two developers and a creative director from Doto2Dot – and we know that the company is now looking for sales and services people, Ed.<br />
Think back: in 2008, Scala wanted to get involved with campaign management, so bought Ad Manager from Market Information Services of Canada (MISC), which had developed it and McRae, as general manager, and others moved from there to Scala.<br />
Now, as Dot2Dot, the same people have both bought Ad Manager from Scala and will both offer Ad Manager directly worldwide as well as act as sole distributor for the entire Scala product line and services.</p>

<p><em>“Over the past three years, Ad Manager wasn’t doing as well because the focus was more on digital, but now ad based networks are doing better and the focus moved over to Ad Manager,” says McRae. “Scala wanted to put it it the hands of people who knew it well and could support it well, so we bought it outright. It’s back in the hands where it started. It‘s a great move for Scala partners and clients. Everything, all relationships for them remains the same. Nothing for them has changed except our name. And we have the opportunity to push Ad Manager globally along with all the other Scala offerings.” </em></p>

The timing for the move is also right. The Scala team had to move, because the office building was being torn down to make room for construction of condos, so the team has moved to Dot2Dot’s existing offices in Scarborough (part of the Greater Toronto Area). “We’ll be very much focused on ad based networks,” says Devonshire. “And we’ll be very integrated with everything at Scala. It’s basically a management change.”<br />
